Horror Film is a solo project of Transglobal Underground's Hamid Mantu.
The 15 track debut CD, Now I See It All was released on D.O.R. in 1995. "These are sonic embroideries - instrumentals created by stitching loops, samples and beats into a musical quilt. The loops are often dark and gritty, but offset by upbeat drum patterns. Here a snatch of Arab string orchestra, there a pinch of Indian vocalist, plus the occasional cinema voice saying 'You understand nothing', or a cockney swearing into his pint. The results are menacing and theatrical, a kind of English mystery kitsch...." The Wire, November 1995. More information about Transglobal Underground |
