John Levack Drever
Live Performance
The internationaly renownd Dalkeith born sonic artist John Levack Drever
presents 'Phonographies'; electroacoustic soundscapes oscillating between
abstract and everyday worlds. Unreal and fantastic transformations are
mixed live via a multi-speaker diffusion system. A cinema for the ears
presenting imagistic, stratospheric, contemplative, nuanced and phantasmic
soundscapes. Existing work is re-mixed and re-framed within the more familiar
urban sonic experiences of Glasgow.
Live Performance
Psychotropic use the electrical signals produced by the human brain or the nervous system of a plant in their performances. Their first piece will consist of a soundclash between Emma's brainwaves (as she meditates) and the nervous system of a Datura plant. In the second piece, Emma and Michael will perform an improvisation for sound sculptures and local environmental sounds of Glasgow.
